Update: We’re currently limiting the number of volunteers per shift. Before you come out to the garden to volunteer, please fill out an application and wait for a confirmation so we can add you to one of our shifts. We also ask that you bring your own mask. Thank you!
Even in the current COVID-19 environment, our partner’s clients are hungry, and the plants are growing—so Fertile GroundWorks’ staff will continue to work our regular shifts (Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturdays 9AM to noon and Fridays 3PM to 6PM).
While we would love to have your help, we honor the safety concerns of our volunteers and understand if they need to re-schedule their planned garden work.
Those of you whom have worked in our third of an acre garden before, know that there is plenty of room to maintain a safe social space of 6 feet between folks while remaining productive. We have a hand washing sink, hand soap, and are disinfecting our communal hand tools after each shift. We also have a limited supply of hand sanitizer and nitrile gloves for any volunteer that wants to use them.
We want everyone to stay healthy and to be secure in the knowledge that we and the garden will be there whenever they feel safe coming to work with us. Please let me know if you or your team would like to re-schedule via email at Brenda.kusler@fertilegroundworks.org .
Until next we meet, please do take care, wash your hands, and stay healthy.
Sincerely,
Brenda and the FGW gardeners
