Noir de Carmes

A heirloom ‘pocket melon’ that does great on a trellis. Grown by the Carmelite monks in France since the 1700’s. You never have to guess if it is ripe, the fruit starts nearly black in color and turns mottled orange & green as it ripens. The flesh is orange in color, thick, flavorful and perfumed. The fruit weigh about 3-6 lbs each, maturing in 80 days.
