An heirloom cantaloupe from the 1920’s with sweet fruit weighing 3 to 5 pounds on a drought resistant vine about 5 feet wide and reach about a foot tall. The fruit matures 85 days after transplanting. We will be field trialing this variety in place of Hale’s cantaloupe in our garden this summer. Lore has it that “Eating the ripe melon straight from the garden on a moonlit night produces a state of passion.”
